Vegetable Gourd OP Winter Squash

Gourd types that can be grown for consumption vary greatly in size and shape.  In all cases; however, the fruit is harvested well before maturity.  As the fruit matures, it tends to get extremely sour, and becomes inedible.  One variety, in particular, which can be eaten, is the Italian Edible.  If harvested while 6 inches or less, it can be consumed like a cucumber.
Vegetable Gourd is suitable for home gardens. They are generally ornamental in their uses, and if properly dried can last for long periods of time in their display role.  Large varieties that we offer are:  Italian Edible, Large Bottle, Calabash, Syphon, Hercules Club, and Long Handled Dipper.
