Buttercup Winter Squash

The vine is medium sized.  The fruit has a thin rind that has a dark green color with white linesand is flecked with dull grey spots.  It has a flattened turban shape.  The interior is a golden yellow color with dry, fine-grained, fiber free, flesh.  The size averages 4.5 in. by 6.5 in. in diameter.

Buttercup is suitable for home gardens and processing.  This is one of the best flavored winter squash varieties.  It is often used in baking and pie making.
